  3. Finished The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, it was a difficult read for deeply personal reasons. Like Theo, I lost my mother and father at around the same age.

    Tartt shows the aftermath of trauma - and the many ways people try to numb it: addiction, depression, lies, escape. None of it really heals the wound.

    It’s a long, powerful, deeply human novel - the kind of book that stays with you. Perfect for #bookclub discussions, and maybe even for #bibliotherapy.
