Sadie Peterson Delaney, née en 1889 dans l’État de New York, poétesse, militante pour les droits des femmes et formée au travail social, choisit en 1921 de devenir #bibliothécaire, convaincue que les #livres sont des leviers d’émancipation et de réparation sans équivalent Son parcours bascule en 1924 lorsqu’elle rejoint l’hôpital de Tuskegee, en Alabama, où sont accueillis notamment des vétérans traumatisés de la Première Guerre mondiale.
