James Renwick Wilson Sloane, Reformed Pres pastor and sem prof, comments on slavery. He saw the worst of evils in it, and a trampling upon the rights of men and women. Long before inclusive language was popular, Sloane saw two avenues for abuse. Those today with nostalgia for slavery deny its terrible toll on women.
