I never thought I would be posting anything about AI, but the past few days I have been assaulted with various topics concerning this subject and thought I should weigh in. First, let me say I am not against AI. I am, however, against AI becoming the norm. Let me try to clarify.

AI is a useful tool when we are looking for information about a particular subject; however, it has always had and will always have limitations.

LOGOS Bible software says AI is: The development of computer systems capable of performing tasks typically requiring human intelligence, such as reasoning and learning. LOGOS also has this disclaimer in microprint: Questions and answers are generated by AI. Always check them for accuracy. These questions and answers are generated by AI and may not be accurate, comprehensive, or relevant. Always use good judgment when relying on AI results. AI has no soul, no consciousness, only programed responses. Depending on the programmer the responses can vary greatly.

We discussed AI in this past Sunday’s Adult Bible study and all agreed on the need to proceed with caution, to be Bereans. This was never more evident than in the recent case of a Mississippi professor who used one word to catch AI cheating. “Thirty-two of my 35 students between two classes failed a portion of their midterm because they all used AI to generate their entire response. And apparently, they didn’t proofread,” Jason Gibson said. They failed to be Bereans when they failed to proofread. We fail every time we take something on the internet, social media, or AI-generated as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. In other words, when AI is the norm, and we take it at face value.

#Palestine lies in a land that is sacred to many people around the world. That is why what has happened in #gaza also has a #biblical dimension. It is neither unusual nor new for the stronger to torment the supposedly weaker. Nor is it unusual for people to #torment others at all.
What is remarkable is that what humanity has felt for a very long time comes to a head there: the division between the humiliators and the humiliated. That is over; that is why it is mainly children who are being shot in Gaza, because they are the weakest.
Despite all the suffering, this is an opportunity to break this vicious circle… once and for all. I pray to all your gods. #

"Judith Slaying Holofernes," Artemisia Geintileschi, c. 1612-3.

Gentileschi (1593-after 1654) is considered the most accomplished artist of either gender in the Baroque period.

This image, while gruesome, is from a Bible story, of the Jewish widow Judith, whose city was threatened by the Assyrian general Holofernes. She went to his tent to seduce him, got him drunk, and then she and a maid beheaded him. It was a favorite subject for artists of the period; many did their own versions of it.

Gentileschi was famous for her naturalistic handling of the female form, and here she is dazzling. Judith is calm and determined, and is no dainty lady but an athletic woman; she HAD to be! Holofernes' writhing is very realistic as well; it's a shocking and believable image.

This was painted soon after an infamous trial where she testified against a man who sexually assaulted her; many wonder if this was her way of expressing her rage. It's notable that she did six versions of the same scene.

Much of her life is unknown; we don't even know when or how she died, just that her last commission was in 1654.

They are/were (not sure how many of them are left) the Greatest Generation. The term was applied not by them but by those who followed and recognized their accomplishments. They were the generation that put careers, politics, and eventually even prejudices aside to overcome a common foe.

Read the letter below that Gen. Eisenhower sent out to be read just before the troops departed for the D-Day invasion. Pay close attention to the last two paragraphs. Those are the words of a true leader, no politically correct crap here. Today is a day of reflection, a day of remembrance, a day we can honor the men and women who took part in the events of D-Day. Can you imagine the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs saying or writing that last paragraph in 2026? Sadly, we are a nation that has forgotten our heritage and is paying the price.

We shall NEVER FORGET.

Those are the words of a true leader, no politically correct crap here. Today is a day of reflection, a day of remembrance, a day we can honor the men and women who took part in the events of D-Day. Can you imagine the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs saying or writing that last paragraph in 2026? Sadly, we are a nation that has forgotten our heritage and is paying the price.

“#Jews Are #Magic,” opening this month at #YIVO’s #Manhattan headquarters, explores the #Jewish fascination with #mysticism, #fortunetelling, #amulets, #psychics and #occult practices. While the exhibit reaches back to the #biblical and #Talmudic periods, its main focus is on the mid-19th century to the early 20th century. In the face of increasing urbanization, oppression in #Russia and the pull of #assimilation, Jews in Eastern #Europe and #NewYork’s Lower East, no less than their non-Jewish neighbors, found solace in the occult.

“In this time period, when people commonly think that sort of magic is getting left at the wayside and people are becoming more modern, they’re just as engaged with these unseen realities as they were beforehand,” said #SamuelGlauber, a specialist on the Jewish occult and adviser to the exhibit.
