Spellbook is a really nice tabletop game and I enjoy playing it.

Unfortunately, on BGA is overshadowed by other, more (mostly deservedly) renowned games, some of which I play too, like 7 Wonders.

Me: how about having some unnecessary #BGA #soldering practice in the shape of upgrading #RAM on a #Radxa 4B Plus from 2GB to 4GB? 🤣

Well that did not go as planned.

I used Samsung K4F6E3S4HMMGCJ 2GB RAM chips from #RaspberryPi 4B. With those Radxa would power on, but won't boot and won't go into recovery mode. Only Maskrom works but I wasn't able even to flash a firmware.

Originally it has two HYNIX H9HCNNN8KUMLHR-NME chips - I wonder what makes those different... 🤔

Nothing like a little BGA reballing practice to get in the mood for bed. These LTM4630Ys are 1.27 mm pitch with 0.75 mm balls. Easy peasy. These 36A DC-DC modules are also $80 each new.

Сегодня ночь выдалась очень интересной, благо я выполнял квест под названием "реставрация крутейшего КПК с видеочипом Nvidia 20-летней давности"! Недавно мой подписчик подогнал мне Acer n311, у которого не работал тачскрин, который намертво зависал и порой вообще переставал включаться и на что либо реагировать. Но мы ж с вами тоже не лыком шитые и хотим дать новую жизнь старенькому, уставшему, но такому классному КПК!

Гаджет буквально всем своим видом говорил, что он устал: корпус был разбит в хлам, задняя крышка с аккумулятором отсутствовали, однако на всеобщее удивление дисплей был цел. Вся эта ситуация вдохновила меня написать небольшую историю того, почему Siemens'ы после 55'ой серии были такими ненадежными...

@Crookie personally i like Azul more than Cascadia, but everyone i know feels the opposite. I honestly don't think you can go wrong either way. and i mean, solo mode should help the game get to table more often (albeit I play Azul digitally on #BGA - but physically, Cascadia has seen more play).

Been really enjoying Zenith on BGA. The multi-lane tug-of-war reminds me a bit of Caper Europe. The card powers are simple to understand but interesting and with multiple ways to use the cards there are usually some good options. I hope I will be able to find a physical copy soon.

The drafting in Diced Veggies reminds me of My Shelfie but the sum limit is a nice addition. You take dice from the edge of the block, their sum must be 10 or less. Once you have the dice you mostly care about their color rather than the value. You use the color to fulfill recipes. So far this is quite simple, what makes it work for me is the Hype cards: these give bonus points when you fulfill additional constraints.

Miams is a cute little rolliewrite. Doesn't seem to have an international release yet so only been able to play it on BGA so far.

The game looks very simple but thanks to the cards there is a tableau/engine builder hiding under the surface. Just had a game where I scored 40 points in a single turn with a crazy combo.

A while ago I got this dead Orange Pi Zero 3 for parts. Turned out to be a dead PMIC+CPU combo. No wonder they sale this exact combo on AliExpress as a replacement parts set 😊.

I bought it and got both chips replaced - it all worked except no matter what I tried it won't output anything over HDMI.

Last night I decided to reball and resolder the CPU - and voila - now I have a fully working board 🏆.

Got a Pi 4B with a torn CPU the other day. Removed the lead free solder residue and discovered that a few pads were torn. One of them is important, so had to repair it with 0.02mm wire. I still can't believe it, but it works 🎉.

Got me some new toys? tools! to play with 😃.

One is MECHANIC KH-001. It has different kinds of bits included and can be helpful with removing welded chips. Those bits can be swapped quite easily and quickly.
I also hoped to use it for #reballing with a magnetic #BGA reballing platform, but this tool and its bits are magnetic sadly.

So I got a QIANLI iHilt 012 that is aluminum and accepts non-magnetic paste planting bits I already have 🙌.

Because why not? 😊
