Very curious as to when doing an action meant to other people that it was "the end" and not the *start* of other actions.
Hope as I understand it gets changed to hope as in "Hopium", as in that's *all there is* to it.
Protests nonviolently becomes Protests means *nothing else* is being done.
Prayer means *no actions* beyond just praying.
None of those are true and seem to have come into being the past 20 years or so.
These changes are so weird to me.
"Brown Girl, Black Girl...Squirrel!" is one of my favorite web audio shows. I don't just learn a lot, but sometimes resonate with some of their experiences. Which is weird as a cis white man. Always worth a listen.

It was disturbing to find out a "goth" person I knew who was man who often wore a skirt last millenia is now a full blown racist trump cultist with the mental disconnect to blame *the people affected* by the DEI grant destroying bullshit for his losing his grant and job.
More disturbing is that this description fits more people than I thought it would.
Watched the most recent Superman movie again.
What makes a lot of these Superhero stories great for me are the supporting characters. Superman needs the Daily Planet. Spiderman needs the Daily Bugle. Batman needs the GCPD, especially Gordon.
These characters help them to choose to do the right thing.
All that power (and wealth in Batman's case) means nothing if it's not used to protect people.

I don't want that, didn't ask for that, and I don't want notifications that aren't from humans (reminders to help with my instance's server costs are okay).
I wish I could go bowling just for fun, without the competition part.
So many tournaments.
Feel that way about tossing a disc around, too. Frisbee golf is fine but I'd rather just toss it back and forth.
Finding people who would want to do those things, just for fun, without making it into a scoring competition is difficult.
Missing whatever the ambition and competition thing is that so many others have.

I was blamed for so many things that I wasn't even a party to, just a convenient victim for liars.
A friend of mine told me he didn't think he had it in him to be a good person. So he started to say to himself, "Be less of an asshole today than you were yesterday. Every day".
He is, deep down, a good person, but different traumas left serious scars and defenses.
I really dislike what my brain still tells me even after years of therapy.
An acquaintance told me the other night "Thank you for existing."
So *of course* I thought it was some kind of weird insult.
Stupid brain.
They were validating me.
Some day I'll *feel* that for real.
Really liked this article and helps explains why my wife, who never played D&D in the 1980s like me, enjoyed it the whole way through as much as me.

I have a hard time believing I did this.
I was offered to go down into a basement full of books and take whatever I wanted without paying for them.
Told myself I didn't have space & walked away.
Told my wife and she asked what I did with her husband.
For context, in the past, I had a 2 room apartment with a kitchen and bath. When we moved, my books filled up 4 rooms of our new to us rental house.

I think these 3 things before it even occurs to me to figure out what this actually is.
Thinking "inside the box" is sometimes difficult for me.
