Watched the most recent Superman movie again.

What makes a lot of these Superhero stories great for me are the supporting characters. Superman needs the Daily Planet. Spiderman needs the Daily Bugle. Batman needs the GCPD, especially Gordon.

These characters help them to choose to do the right thing.

All that power (and wealth in Batman's case) means nothing if it's not used to protect people.

I wish I could go bowling just for fun, without the competition part.

So many tournaments.

Feel that way about tossing a disc around, too. Frisbee golf is fine but I'd rather just toss it back and forth.

Finding people who would want to do those things, just for fun, without making it into a scoring competition is difficult.

A friend of mine told me he didn't think he had it in him to be a good person. So he started to say to himself, "Be less of an asshole today than you were yesterday. Every day".

He is, deep down, a good person, but different traumas left serious scars and defenses.

An acquaintance told me the other night "Thank you for existing."

So *of course* I thought it was some kind of weird insult.

Stupid brain.

They were validating me.

I have a hard time believing I did this.

I was offered to go down into a basement full of books and take whatever I wanted without paying for them.

Told myself I didn't have space & walked away.

Told my wife and she asked what I did with her husband.

For context, in the past, I had a 2 room apartment with a kitchen and bath. When we moved, my books filled up 4 rooms of our new to us rental house.

I think these 3 things before it even occurs to me to figure out what this actually is.

Thinking "inside the box" is sometimes difficult for me.
