Halloween is really my season, and I'm already counting the days until it returns. But for now, here are three of my favorite #films set in #December. I highly recommend them! What are yours?

* The Lion in Winter (1968) Perhaps my favorite #film, full stop. ("What shall we hang, the holly or each other?")

* Beware, My Lovely (1952) Brilliant turns by two of the greatest stars of #FilmNoir, #RobertRyan and #IdaLupino.

* Black Christmas (1974) A cult classic for good reason.

And now I get to benefit from Noir Fan’s posting of Eddie’s outro to YouTube. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

Well, Corky comes back and all is well…sort of? I’m still not clear on exactly what form of mental illness Howard Wilton suffers from? I’m not sure this pathology exists. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

@mercurie absolutely perfect. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

Wait, folks, isn’t the most likely place for him to have disappeared to is *back in the house*?#BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

Of course the phone repair guy doesn’t believe her. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

#RobertRyan’s filmography shows no #TwilightZone episodes, and that surprises me. He seems like the perfect #RodSerling or #CharlesBeaumont protagonist. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

I cannot lie. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

Howard Wilton emerges from The Matrix: “I know feng shui.” #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

#BarbaraWhiting does the best she can with the part of Ruth. It’s written as a fickle teen girl, but someone got their post-WW2 girl mixed up with a post-WW1 one, I think? She doesn’t sound very true to the period. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

The weird thing about that locked front door is that houses of the era had multiple ground floor entrances for fire safety. I’ve owned 2 houses, built in 1906 & 1912, and they each had 3 ground-floor doors: front, side, & back. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

@mercurie there’s a big thing with reflections in this film. #BewareMyLovely #NoirAlley

Thanks to YouTube’s Noir Fan, I got to catch Eddie’s #NoirAlley intro to #BewareMyLovely

Not entirely comfortable with the portrayal of whatever mental illness this is in #BewareMyLovely. There’s a lot of that in #NoirAlley sometimes.

Finally catching #BewareMyLovely on a delayed #NoirAlley because of streaming restrictions.

Love the reflection of Robert Ryan in that Christmas ball. #TCMParty #NoirAlley #BewareMyLovely

$4.37 in 1918 would be $95.84 now. #TCMParty #NoirAlley #BewareMyLovely

Bummed that #SlingTV doesn’t have #BewareMyLovely on #NoirAlley on tonight because of licensing issues. They don’t even have Eddie’s intro & outro! I have to find the movie & introductions somewhere else later this week…

And, of course, our #NoirAlley leading man is Robert Ryan.

This week’s #NoirAlley leading lady is Ida Lupino

In addition to being one of the greatest directors of all time, Ida Lupino was also very pretty. #TCMParty #NoirAlley #BewareMyLovely

All the way from Australia, this brand new Noir collection has at last arrived! Extra special for me are “Beware My Lovely” (1952) and “Jennifer” (1953) — two Ida Lupino noirs that have not been officially released on home video before. “Jennifer”, in particular, has only been viewable in rather rough copies.

Two films that I love are set in December. They offer a different flavor than the average holiday fare: BEWARE, MY LOVELY (1952) and THE LION IN WINTER (1968). The latter is probably my all-time favorite film. I highly recommend both! #Film #Cinema #Drama #Noir #Historical #BewareMyLovely #TheLionInWinter
