Let’s take this opportunity to bring attention to the advances made in the protection of refugee rights as a result of that decision, but also to reflect upon the state of refugee rights in Canada, in a time of rising anti-immigrant sentiment, divisive rhetoric among some leaders, and setbacks like the cuts to refugee health care and the new Bill C-12 legislation, that threaten refugee protections and supports. We’re better together. -
