I watched President Biden's speech at the DNC earlier tonight.

I loved the speech. I especially loved his optimism and his message that we as Americans, don't have to be the bigoted, misogynistic, selfish, hateful, and intolerant bullies that the Trump camp needs us to be.

The hulking elball players gathered in a huddle as the Better Angels led a cheer from the sidelines. Wearing tight-fitting tops and short skirts, they were serving as celebrity cheerleaders during the first half of the game and were scheduled to perform at halftime. The home team was ahead and the packed audience was enthusiastic.
"Rah-rah!" the audience screamed as the Angels danced and shook their pom-poms. "Rah-rah!"
Rara was delirious with joy. "They're calling my name!"

Even after much discussion, the mediators were unable to resolve their differences. And so they departed, leaving from opposite sides of the Grand Council Chamber of Diplomacy Prime. The Better Angels were most of the way back to Angels' Wings, when Prince Philip came running from behind.
"Wait, Miss Popo! Wait!"
The Angels all turned and waited as he arrived breathlessly, panting, and pulled out his device.
"Could I at least get your contact info?" he asked.
"No," Popo said.

David returned from the Select Club & entered Angels' Wings. Walking to the bridge, he passed through a gauntlet of Better Angels with humorless expressions. At the door to the bridge stood Zaza, hands on her hips.
"Yes, Angel?"
"Who was that?"
"Who?"
"That woman! She was touching you!"
"Oh," he said. "That was Captain Reckless. She owed me money. She paid me back."
"And that was all?"
"That was all. Were you jealous?" he chuckled.
"Hmph!" Zaza pouted, crossing her arms.

For three shows, on three different worlds, the Better Angels noticed a young man occupying the same seat in the front row. When they arrived at the next world, trumpets sounded when they came through the spaceway. The young man was at the entrance wearing a white uniform, surrounded by an entourage of many officials.
"Miss Popo?" he said.
"Yes?" Popo said coming forward.
"I am Prince Philip and I would like to request your hand in marriage as my princess."
"No," Popo said.

Sisi skipped through the Red Zone of the Truck Stop. Eyes followed her from the shadows.
"Isn't that one of those Better Angels?" whispered one rough customer. "What's she doing here?"
"Watch out," another said. "Their manager is scary."
"If she got 'lost'," the first said. "He might pay to 'find' her."
"But ssshe'sss not going to get lossst, isss ssshe?" hissed a voice.
They spun to see a 10-meter thicc florescent pink snake glaring down at them.
"No, ma'am!" they gulped & ran.

David & Bebe walked back to Angels' Wings with Bebe blowing her whistle the whole way. The whistle produced an ear-splitting, warbling shriek. People looked & pointed & covered their ears as they went by.
"Bebe?" David began tentatively.
"Yes, David?" she said between blasts.
"You know if the other Angels see your whistle, they're going to want one too."
"Bebe understands!" she said nodding vigorously.
David opened the hatch & they went inside.
"LOOK WHAT BEBE GOT!" Bebe screamed.

David was filling out an application when Zaza came in.
"Can I get you anything? Water? Some juice?"
"No thanks, Angel," he said. "I need to focus on this."
Zaza smiled & left.
Two minutes later, Bebe came in.
"Bebe wants to bring you a snack!"
"That's nice. But I'm too busy right now. Maybe later?"
"Bebe will come back!"
After she left, he'd just started to work when Popo came in.
"David! Would you like…"
"Yes," he said, leaning back in his chair. "Yes, that would just fine." #BetterAngels

David found Mumu sitting off in a dark corner by herself, looking depressed.
"What's wrong, Angel?"
"I never get any screen time," she said. "Everyone loves Zaza and Bebe's so cute. And everyone else has roles! Nene does communications & Sisi's the weapons master."
"You're like the tsukkomi to the others' boke," David said.
"Even my name is weird: Mumu," she sighed. "It's like a baggy dress. Why couldn't it at least be Momo?"
"Sorry. The author already used Momo in Revin's Heart." #BetterAngels

#WritingWonders 19. A first friend… #BetterAngels edition

Since the Angels were only replicated (molecularly assembled) to spec within the last year, their first friend was David. But they make lots and lots of friends after that: Lusa, Rect, Bull, Tau, Lambda, Cherry, Charlie, Sssindy, Koguma, Ĉiaki, Lin, Nadeŝko, etc. And, of course, they have millions and millions of adoring fans. But not everyone's a fan, like Professor Thombert.

I now have an outline for the quadruple-T (a new #BetterAngels story). #amwriting
