Really the majority of tech and financial media [at least in the US] is a proper shitshow when it comes to this. The amount of times I've nitpicked on Toms for example whenever someone writes about the 'insatiable demand' of AI.

I have seen many articles talk about this alleged 'massive demand for compute' but never anything behind it.

@Zitron of the #BetterOffline podcast joins Isaac Pound of #TheTechReport YouTube channel, where they discuss the financial reality of the #genAI super-scalers and their partners in circular finance and wishful speculation.
There does not appear to be any possibility of the GPT-based #AI industry (such as #LLM services) to ever not run at a net financial loss while retaining enough customers to cover their sunk costs. If the CEOs aren't aware of this and wilfully conducting a fraud orders of magnitude larger than #SamBankmanFried, then they must be wilfully ignorant true believers in their own respective cults.
The hosts don't say this, but: the only way out of the global financial craters these companies form when they explode will be to tax the oligarchs down to zero and liquidate all the companies' and executives' and major investors' assets.
