Dystopian tech is not inevitable.
We can push back against dystopia.
And we can win.
Do not capitulate.

The Resistance needs to be happening every single day and week.
The Resistance needs to be so loud that it cannot be ignored by the distant powerful.
The Resistance needs to be so crowded that they cannot kill you anymore.
The Resistance needs to happen now.

If you want to be part of The Resistance,
it will cost you your smart speaker, your Ring doorbell, your smart glasses, and your AI assistants.Mass surveillance is incompatible with revolution. Get rid of it.

There will be some negative consequences and some efforts required to leave certain platforms in protest, to stop using AI tools, and to participate in movements opposing injustices. Yes. It does come at a cost.
But many forget that the cost of complying obediently, the cost of doing nothing, the cost of passivity will be much worse in the end.
It's exhausting, I know.
It's inconvenient, I know.
It's time-consuming, I know.
But doing nothing is so much worse. -
You can advertise on Big Tech, but
Don't organize using Big Tech.Don't use Big Tech services to support vulnerable populations, this is putting their safety at risk.
Use alternatives that respect your and their privacy. This is essential for safety.

Without even a fight.You do you, but I won't let this happen without a fight. And yes, emailing your representatives and going to protests DOES work.
Stop telling people to do nothing instead.

Think local, think small, think about who you can personally reach.
* A D&D party worth of people can make meaningful change in a small town or city council.
* The people who surround you at work almost certainly could be unionized, and you can build unions in apartment complexes etc. We ended child labor for unionized companies and implemented eight hour days long before those became laws. You can do something similar in churches and in most organizations.
* Bake your neighbors a pie. Get to know them.
