🥊 The Tech Guys Are Fighting. Literally | NYT
｢ The nation’s tech elite, not content with unfathomable wealth and rising political influence in Washington, have recently developed a new obsession — fighting. Across the United States, men like Mr. Batey are learning to punch, kick, knee, elbow and, in some cases, hammer an opponent over the head with their fists. The figurehead of the movement is Mark Zuckerberg ｣

How a #wolf pack is really structured. Hint: it has nothing to do with #alphas or #betas or #omegas or violence
If you’re on the #Apple beta grind like a friend of mine, you’re likely already aware that the Release Candidates for pretty much all Apple software has dropped, most notably #macOS 15.2 and #iOS and #iPadOS 18.2. This happens soon before the final version is rolled out to all users. Fortunately, this round of betas has been mostly stable, but there are still issues so don’t install on a production device. #tech #betas https://appleinsider.com/articles/24/12/05/apple-issues-release-candidates-for-ios-182-ipados-182-macos-sequoia-152

#betas Have you upgraded to iOS 17 beta 5? I’m not sure I have because when I try to check for updates I get infinite spinning wheel.

@KatLynReid How do you grow as a #writer if you don't share work? How do you gain more skills? Creativity is a living, breathing thing, and you have to feed it. With opinions other than your own. That's why having #CritiquePartners and #Betas is so important. You have to learn how to apply input an #editor will later give you. There's always negativity, even after you've published. Reviews can be brutal. If you can't deal with someone you trust #reading your work, how do you deal with that? YMMV
I really like the simplified definition of ‘beta’ I came up with for a customer the other day who asked “is it safe to assume this [beta] doesn’t put my data at risk of being corrupted?”
I explained: Beta means ‘this is safe to test, but not safe to trust.’ I told them to make backups and proceed with caution. #beta #betas
