Who was your Ult Artist(s)/Group(s) in 2025?
I exercised iron self discipline by naming just one #KpopSongOfTheYear for #BestOfKpop2025 , so now I am going to allow myself to name four Ult Groups:
-- Hearts2Hearts. They're just my type and I like their style.
-- VIVIZ. "La La Love Me", the album "A Montage of ( )", and their concert footage all thrilled me.
-- RESCENE. I can't stop, won't stop promoting these talented, beautiful, 3rd Gen reborn young women!
-- NMIXX. Deservedly achieved both critical acclaim and popular success this year. Did you catch the PV for "Know About Me"?

IVE -- Yujin
IVE -- I AM was my Kpop Song Of The Year in 2023, but I haven't really loved any of their title tracks since then.
Similarly, Kep1er -- Shooting Star was my Kpop Song Of The Year in 2024, but the group's subsequent comebacks have fallen flat with me.
I'm hoping this pattern doesn't continue now that I've named Hearts2Hearts -- The Chase as my Song Of The Year for 2025. I have grounds for optimism, as I have liked all their releases this year following on from "The Chase". Let's pray we don't part company next year!
Since I'm mentioning IVE, I have decided to post this picture of Yujin. She was my IZ*ONE bias, and she remains a beautiful and talented idol.
I'm going to guess that just about every Kpop girl group fan has a preference for either Yujin or Wonyoung, even if they are not passionately attached to IVE. Obviously, I am in the Yujin camp, but I recognize that she is outstripped in popularity by Wonyoung.

As I watched the MV and saw the incorporation of Alice imagery, I was reminded of the continuing spell cast by those two books of Lewis Carroll.
I must read some of the more recent serious work on the Alice books and their author.

I'm gonna do my #BestOfKpop2025 in two parts, because it's hard to choose faves.
Criteria includes: 1 song per artist/group as a general rule. When in doubt, I've chosen the track I listened to most. Listed by Artist Name.
Now show me yours - best song? top 10? top 100? I need to know! 💜

After going back and forth about how big or small my #BestOfKpop2025 list should be, I decided to revert to my original plan and just post my Song Of The Year.
As you can see from the linked post that I wrote in June, I love "The Chase" so much , and I never tire of watching this stage.

I've just finished listening to your podcast about your discovery of Kpop.
As an older male Kpop fan whose first degree was in philosophy and who loved the Loona project while Jaden Jeong was at the helm, I very much enjoyed hearing what you had to say.
I see you've joined Mastodon fairly recently. I know that it can be difficult at first to find people in the Fediverse with whom one shares interests, so I thought that you might like to start following Kpop fans included in this starter pack compiled by @pixelcats , who is a very active, generous, and knowledgeable fan of long standing.
Even though we are a small community here , you should find all sorts of interesting people to follow.
I post my #KpopOfTheWeek each weekend; you can get some idea of my tastes by browsing that hashtag. I post quite a lot of other non-Kpop stuff too.
I look forward to seeing your posts too, whether they be pictures of your favourite idols, #BestOfKpop2025, or musings on what Marcuse would have had to say about mixxpop -- or any of the other topics you mention in your header.
