    4. I will leave the nuances of the actual sculpture for the experts, but standing in front of the sculpture, alone in this small corner of the museum, she was breathtaking. The detail was amazing, and she felt real, as if she was staring back at me.

    She was born in Viterbo, Italy. She was literate, well educated, and lived in Rome for most of her life.

    1. One of the things I struggle with (one of many) IS the idea that great art and great people are oftentimes problematic personally. Crappy people sometimes do amazing things, and while it is true that you really don't want to be remembered for the worst thing you did, is it ok to admire the work of someone that may have been an awful human being?
