The "hells" of Beppu.
Hot water and steam create ponds in different color. This is Akaike Jigoku and its bright red color contrasts the blue Umi Jigoku, both of which can be found on the same grounds.#Photography #Fotografie #PhotoMonday #FotoMontag #Japan #Beppu #Jigoku

From my trip to Japan: The Demon of Kamado Jigoku, Beppu, Japan.
#Beppu has nine 'hells' (boiling hot springs). Kamado Jigoku, the "cooking pot hell", consists of several boiling springs. The demon statue in the photograph represents the cook, and is also known as "Oni" (鬼).
Picture 2: one of the "cooking pots". Temperature varies between 50 and 100 degrees C.
