While the British umm & ahhh about the restitution of looted artefacts, I see the Dutch (ever the pragmatists) have just got on with negotiating the return of 119 Benin Bronzes to Nigeria.
Meanwhile the British talk about our world class museums & the presentation of world cultures, or the difficulty of changing the laws constraining the return of artworks from national museum collections.
The entitlement of imperialism hasn't quite faded, has it?

The Wereldmuseum in Leiden is preparing to return 113 ancient sculptures to Nigeria, as pressure mounts on Western governments and institutions to hand back the spoils of the colonial era.
The bronzes were looted from the ancient Kingdom of Benin, in modern-day Nigeria, more than 120 years ago by British colonisers.

The Netherlands says it will return more than 100 Benin Bronzes that British troops looted from Nigeria in the late 19th Century and which ended up in a Dutch museum.
The Dutch Minister of Culture says he hopes this move will address the "historical injustice".

That the Taiwan Museum seems to have broken 3 pieces (value $66mn) doesn't help when #China demands them back!
