My doctor made me a little sad yesterday. She thanked me for always following her suggestions and being so easy going.
My doctor's super compassionate and highly intelligent. I hate the implication others don't respect her knowledge and aren't as nice to her as she deserves.

My goal in life is to be as kind and helpful to people as possible. And that includes everyone here on Mastodon (and the fediverse). So when someone drags me for no good reason, it upsets me a lot.

I’m just back from a trip to California where I was lucky enough to have the often rumoured random car rental mega-upgrade happen to me.
My LHR->SFO flight was 2 hrs late. The rental company (Hertz) couldn’t accept my #ChaseUK card as verification because it has no numbers printed on it, and it was now 11pm and I had a 20 mile drive to do.
I kept calm, stayed polite, and worked through options with them, which I think was appreciated, because instead of a “Compact” car, I got this… #BeNice

I'll add one more thing here - most foster kids were nice and kind, and really overcame issues that they, and their families had.
Most kids I knew during that time were awesome individuals, and only one kid turned out to be a criminal from like...50+ kids.
Some teens just really wanted to vent their ill feels at me, because I seemed well-adjusted compared to them. I simply taught them a lesson not to be a dick and not to look at book by its cover.
