There is a longtime social #mission established when B&J was founded. And yes, it’s extremely liberal. But during the recent months of #ICE kidnappings in #Vermont, the pair wrote about Gaza. They were quickly censored by the mega-corp. VT relies on #migrantworkers year round for harvests and farms.

'Unilever, the parent company of this ice cream brand since the 2000s, revealed that it fired Stever without even consulting the board that oversees the brand. The one and only, and paradoxical, reason: his commitment to the company’s social mission.
Apparently, Unilever had repeatedly criticized Stever for 'continually engaging' in Ben & Jerry’s social initiatives, such as celebrating Black History Month.
The radicalization of society has unfortunately reached every level, and Stever has faced significant censorship for expressing support for Palestine or even celebrating the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a legal resident and activist for Palestine at Columbia University. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield (aka Ben and Jerry) are reportedly in talks to buy back their namesake ice cream brand from Unilever. Two weeks ago the founders complained that their brand's parent company was silencing them on Trump. @quartz reports that Cohen and Greenfield "may seek to partner with investors who share their social values if any transaction is made, although details remain confidential." Unilever, however, told Bloomberg that the ice cream unit is “not for sale." Ben & Jerry's was founded in 1978 and known for its advocacy for racial equality, climate change action and LGBTQ rights. It was purchased by Unilever in 2000.

While the ethics of any company making products from dairy are certainly questionable, Ben And Jerry's way of handling MAGA attempts to compromise human protections puts CEOs like Apple's Tim Cook, Meta's Zuckerberg, and of course X's Musk rat to shame. #Google, #Meta, #Microsoft and #Apple COULD have withdrawn apps like #X from their stores the moment its misinforming, Nazification tendencies became obvious. They need a bit of #benandjerry ethics and courage.

There was a day that I ate Wavy Gravy ice cream and I had no idea it would be my last. I hope I enjoyed it properly.

I went to the store to find something tonight, and I came across a carton of a Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream, which is a limited edition flavor. There was also some Minter Wonderland next to it. But that flavor would have been overkill for me. #IceCream #BenAndJerry
