Fascist newspaper ordered to pay compensation to several NGOs for defamation

Maurizio Belpietro, editor of #Panorama, has been convicted of defamation and ordered to pay €10,000 in provisional damages for calling NGOs “the new pirates” on the magazine’s cover.

This ruling, concerning our project alongside Open Arms, EMERGENCY, Sea-Watch, SOS Mediterranee, and Mediterranea, confirms what we have said all along: this was not journalism, but a deliberate attempt to delegitimise solidarity and dehumanise people on the move.

Now #Belpietro and his supporters claim they are being “silenced.” They are not. They are facing accountability, something they are clearly unaccustomed to.

This decision matters because attacks like these poison public discourse, justify violence and death at the borders, and ultimately endanger the lives of people forced to cross #FortressEurope in a dangerous way. We need to reclaim public space from hate and lies, and make room for the voices of those who are silenced by border violence. This is a good step in that direction.⁩

In compenso sulla copertina di Panorama Maurizio #Belpietro mette il 200% di minchiate.

La prima minchiata al 100% è la teoria della "sostituzione etnica".

La seconda è che in Italia l'immigrazione avrebbe "strappato il tessuto sociale", mentre invece è lui che ha strappato le palle e le ovaie a chi deve subire le sue minchiate fascistoidi da anni.

#Belpietro dice che dopo il caso #Soumahoro la sinistra deve smettere di "fare la morale" alla destra. Però non spiega come mai lui continua a fare la morale alla sinistra dopo essersi inventato un attentato finto e dopo aver passato decenni a criminalizzare migranti, servire potenti, chiedere presunzione di innocenza per indagati di destra.

Potevate riesumare la salma di Gramsci e sputagli in faccia direttamente. #Belpietro #Unita
