The Return of BeLeaf

While not as often as in the past, I still return to the what I call BeLeaf, a kind of spritual practice of photographing the simple beauty of leaves.

One recent morning, I walked out to the SUV to find the combination of a night rain and falling birch leaves had created a lovely collage on the canvas of the vehicle.

There is a kind of peace which enters into me as I photograph. I think of rain. I think of the strange beauty of dying leaves.

I wonder if any will remain glued by wind and water upon my return from the errands of the day.

I think of mortality. I become more present to this moment and each of the precious moments of my day as I load up the SUV.

Such is the gift of BeLeaf.
