@quad Well, forcing things by #cancelling people for #beingEverythingphobic is certainly not going to work out. But that's not the only way to get things rolling.
I would argue people tend to really lower down their expectations on what everyone else can do and improve, when it shouldn't even be about hoping everyone else does their job at reading about every minority and social issue and political conflict and becoming full time activists under a strict mantra - it should be about finding the sweet spot where the novelty of new kinds of people is introduced in a way that feels actually positive. So, you know, like (mainly pop) artists have been doing since the 50s, basically. Which yes, implies someone daring to have the empathy for those who hate them and swallowing it all up, which also sounds utterly wrong. But these work out relatively fast, in very few years even. And this should extend not just to celebrities on TV or TikTok (ugh), but to the everyday. And it's not something to give up into, it's a foundation on which to start working from into what should be the default.
