The #Befana is an old lady who brings sweets to good kids on January 6th.
If you've been bad, you'll get charcoal.
You put out actual socks (generally your parents' larger ones) to be filled.These days it's a minor holiday, but it was more important than Xmas a generation ago in Rome.
I still do it for my family. -

Since they get candies and chocolates all year long every time a kid in school has their birthday, and even more during the Christmas period preceding the Befana, I mix up sweets and candies with some foreign snacks they've never tasted before. It could be Pokémon-themed sweets and beverages from Japanese stores or banana chips from Madagascar.

Keeping the #Befana tradition while living abroad has some limitations.
For instance I can't easily find fake coal. In #Italy stockings are filled with sugar candies shaped as pieces of coal. Since the kids are already eating way too much sugar and I can't buy those here anyway, this year Befana will bring them black marbles and whiskey cooling stones 🥃🧹🧙♀️
The stockings are the classic red ones. Not the patched multicoloured socks Befana wears 🥹

Curiosità, anche se questo ha un #branding specifico, online si trovano da distributori generici cercando roba come “mini arcade 152”, con esattamente gli stessi #giochi. Ahimè, sono sempre giochi generici originali (né su licenza né rubati, quindi la qualità è bassina), e moltissimi del totale sono semplicemente reskin messe sotto un nome diverso per gonfiare il conto dei titoli. Ma qualcosa di decente c’è. 🙏
