Oregon’s #PublicCoastBrewing released a new limited-edition pastry stout this month, inspired by the fluffernutter sandwich (that’s peanut butter and marshmallow) — Fluff N’ Good Stout. It’s brewed with peanut butter and freeze-dried marshmallows and is 9% alcohol by volume.

The #GreatAmericanBeerFestival concluded this weekend in Denver, and on Saturday the results of the #beer competition were announced. It’s a stiff competition; 1,555 breweries and ciders from all 50 states entered a total of 8,315 beers and ciders, so winning even 1 medal is a feat. Bend, Oregon's #UPPLiquids won 5!

#BaleBreakerBrewing is releasing its latest beer, a fresh interpretation of the company’s original Field 41 #PaleAle — Yakima Pale Ale. Oregon Homegrown is a new #beer collaboration project put together by #CelebrateOregonBeer. Two dozen breweries collaborated with nine hop farms, Indie Hops, and Wyeast Laboratories to craft a variety of beers featuring Strata hops. The beers will be available at a series of tap takeovers around the state, the first of which starts this Memorial Day weekend in Portland.

#UPPLiquids is the newest brewing venture from industry veteran Tonya Cornett, officially launching in #BendOregon this week in partnership with #ImmersionBrewing. Cornett joined Bend Brewing Company in 2002 and more recently was the R&D brewmaster at 10 Barrel Brewing before being unexpectedly laid off along with the rest of the innovation brewing team last September.

It’s official: 2024 was the “hardest year for #Oregon #CraftBrewers,” based on a press release from the Oregon Beverage Alliance. I don’t know if this applies for the past 40 or so years, but according to the lede in the release, more breweries, brewpubs, and taprooms closed than opened last year, for the first time since 2000.

I recently received cans of the latest #NonAlcoholicBeer from California-based #BestDayBrewing, a Mexican style lager with lime and sea salt, Electro-Lime Cerca de Cerveza. This new NA brew joins Best Day’s core lineup which consists of Kölsch-Style, West Coast IPA, and Hazy IPA.

There are two upcoming #beer events from #GrandCraftBeer to check out, taking place in #BendOregon and #PortlandOregon. This week I received a #FreshHop #beer from Hood River’s #DoubleMountainBrewery, the new Iowa Bar Fight Fresh Hop #IPA, a collaboration with #SoleraBrewery of nearby Parkdale. Iowa Bar Fight was brewed with fresh #Strata hops sourced from #CrosbyHops.

For most of its existence, #BellsBrewery had not distributed its beers to #Oregon (or the rest of the Pacific Northwest). But that changed in April as Bell’s announced that it is now distributing to Oregon (as well as Idaho, Washington, and Alaska). As part of the rollout, I received samples of Two Hearted IPA last week.
