Not sure why I so often reinvent the wheel. I'm sure there's a formal solution to this, but instead of searching for that I coded a simulation of the distribution of the number of tries it would take, guessing randomly, to get 100% on a quiz if you had unlimited retries.
Edit: Pretty sure this is a problem for the negative binomial or a closely related distribution... maybe I should learn more about the negative binomial distribution.
