@nilz generell finde ich es oft gut, wenn Filme keine Sympathen haben. Weil gerade das oft schablonenhaft wirkt. Ich glaube ich habe den schon mal gesehen.

Diese Serie wurde wirklich nicht für Leute wie mich gemacht. In den Nullerjahren war ich längst raus aus dem Alter, in dem auf Klassenfahrten Jamba-Klingeltöne ausgetauscht wurden oder „Männer“, die noch längst keine waren, sich im Aldi-Parkhaus gegenseitig die Fresse poliert haben. Ich hatte damals zwar auch schon ein Handy, ja sicher. Mein Klingelton war aber ein MP3 von Bruce Springsteens „Born to Run“ – und der war selbstverständlich nie peinlich. Jedenfalls nicht für mich. Niemals! (ZDF, Neu!)

I believe The Lord of the Rings film trilogy technically passes the Bechdel test.

The only conversation between 2 female characters is when the little girl asks Éowyn, "where is momma?" and Éowyn calms her.

That's it. The only conversation between 2 female characters in just under 12 hours of film.

❝George is, in his heart and soul, a good guy and a talented filmmaker. I wish he would’ve kept directing [other kinds of] movies. But when I went to see Episode I — I had a friend who worked at ILM, who took me as a guest to a preview — I cried. I cried because I didn’t think it was very good. And I thought he had such a rich vein to mine, a rich palette to tell stories with. He had all those characters. I thought it was weird that the story was about this little boy who looked like he was six years old, but then later on he’s supposed to get with this princess who looked like she was twenty years old. There were things I didn’t like about the casting, and things I didn’t like about the story…it was a lot of eye candy.

I have an idea for a project in R. I could track my read books and use the data to create a map of the countries the authors are from or where the book is set. And an idea I have for quite a while now, since I was introduced to it at a course during my master’s degree: Bechdel test for the novels I’ve read. But i never take notes so I have to rely on memory or others and of course start taking notes now. #BechdelTest #RStats #books

‘Would the film Hidden Figures pass the Bechdel Test?’

They are 9…so I asked: ‘how do you know what the #BechdelTest is?’

Response: ‘Oh it’s mentioned in the Simpsons’

Me: Oh, right…

We deliberated - clearly lots of scenes with women talking to each other, but a lot of the substance of what they say also relates to men.

But ultimately they do also talk a lot about maths, engineering and racial and gender segregation …so we decided in the end it does pass!

One of the many great things about John Allison's comics is how they consistently pass the Bechdel test, as a matter of course.
