#PUBG - Yup. The two guys I crew with at work are big PUBG guys. I (before I had kids) was a huge PUBG guy. So yeah, now I spend multiple nights a week not earning chicken dinners. It's been a laugh though, and really nice to get back into a game that I've spent about a thousand hours in already. It's still fantastic.
#BeastOfReincarnation - Man. At ten hours I was thinking this game might find a way into my end of year list. I was having fun with the combat and the story felt like it was going to be interesting enough to get me through. Another 10/15 hours later and my opinion on the game changed significantly.
It's not bad. It just doesn't do anything well enough to justify spending nearly 25 hours in it's world. It doesn't respect the players time, it doesn't offer near enough enemy variety and perhaps most frustratingly, it's story and lore are delivered in giant and mostly unskippable cut-scenes. There's an interesting tale here, but I found it's delivery to be so boring that I just wanted to get through it; but couldn't, because I couldn't skip.
Please, not every game needs to be a 30 hour epic. Edit that shit down. Concise.

#BeastOfReincarnation wants to tell a story that's similar in size to something like #ClairObscur but it's got absolutely none of the finesse or style that Expedition 33 had in spades.
You're left watching legit hours of tediously writing and boringly animated cut-scenes just to get back to the (admittedly rather fun, if a little repetitive) action.
It's a real shame. A more talented team could really have done something interesting with this world, story and game.

I'm going to go full 'mainline' on #BeastOfReincarnation. I've enjoyed my time with it but I want to done with.
Unfortunately the games ridiculously uninteresting, unskippable cut-scenes have other ideas.
I've been sat here for what feels like twenty minutes forcing myself to watch cut-scenes for a story I've long since stopped giving a shit about.

Sorry #GameFreak, you cannot fix creativity with a DLC.
The game is a perfect representation of a 6/10 game that, due to the current "challenging market", is going to sell poorly.
The game requires a foundational rewrite to reach a 8/10, and I don't see them puring millions to do it when #Nintendo is knocking the door for the next #Pokemon.

I've put 15 hours into #BeastOfReincarnation and to my horror I've just discovered that I'm about half way through, maybe a little over.
How the fuck did they manage to make this a thirty hour game I do not know. I'm already getting bored, and I was probably higher on the game than most.

I played a little #BeastOfReincarnation last night and I've got a few thoughts.
Combat is fun. Not overly difficult but I'm really enjoying not being absolutely devastated whenever I miss on a parry.
The game looks nice, and has some really nice art design. The Japanese voice acting seems well done, although, given I can't speak or understand Japenese I might be compleltely off on that one.
The open world....feels bland, empty and devoid of reasons to be. I can explore, but I'm not sure why I'd bother. There's no brancing paths or perticularly exciting loot to be found.
Boss fights. I've only done one so far and it was solid. Perhaps a little too slight in the enemy-attack front; but that's a critisism I've seen levelled at the entire game.
Cutscenes are an entire thing. They look well animated but holy shit-balls is there a lot of stationary characters just monologing going on.
I'm going to stick with it for another few sessions. Right now my general impression is that it's all a bit boring. I've not been hooked as of yet, and frankly, I don't have the time or the inclination to 'find the fun'.

Ponad 3h z #BeastOfReincarnation i powiem, że jest... ciekawie. Ktoś tu miał spore ambicje, a ja mam teraz niezły ubaw próbując odgadnąć "co autor miał na myśli". Mimo wszystko bawię się dobrze (w specyficzny sposób), a to dopiero początek, więc zobaczymy jak to się rozwinie 😄
