I have a question about oil pipelines in Canada.
What happens in the event the Transmountain pipeline is overrun by a Rank 4 or 5 wildfire?
I know these pipelines carry different product at different times. I know they can be shut. But what would happen if it was a section transporting NGL-diluted bitumen?

A state of emergency has been declared
after thousands of people were forced to flee their homes
as a fast-moving wildfire in a remote part of western Canada spread rapidly,
doubling in size since it was first detected on Friday.The Bald Range fire now occupies more than 39 sq miles (103 sq km)
across the Summerland, Peachland and other districts of British Columbia,
according to the BC Wildfire Service."We have to brace ourselves for the worst,"
Summerland Mayor Doug Holmes told Reuters.Officials said the flames were so high that they had created their own weather systems, which creates lightning.

No further updates yet this morning but this CBC article has good details on the initial attack yesterday evening. Two residents were evacuated immediately by firefighters, the rest are on alert.
The fire is near BC Hydro high voltage transmission lines so the wildfire crews were not able to start on the ground until BCH shut down those lines. Until then, helicopters bucketed the fire.
Wind conditions were also favourable.
Hopefully they’ll have it under control today if the weather continues to cooperate. The CBC article includes a map that shows the fire in relation to downtown Vancouver, but doesn’t point out the location of the Burnaby oil terminal even though it is almost exactly halfway between the two.

It is currently 1.5ha and out of control but updates often come slowly on the web. News reports are that a few homes have been “tactically evacuated” and more evacuations may come according to Metro Vancouver government.)
