@mrpjevans yes #sunshine exists even in #UK every once and a while :D cool with the 10kWh #lifepo4 ? be careful with that... better place it outside the house as stated a billion times, need someone who can do #bcp for a #bms for #lifepo4 then it can be handled save.
my supposed #lead #gel batteries are not performing as planned... they seem to have way less then the advertised 100Ah capacity :( https://www.autobatterienbilliger.de/Accurat-Traction-T100-GEL-Batterie-12V-100Ah-Versorgungsbatterie-umsatzsteuerbefreit -

The #DNS is super important for how the internet works, but it’s also getting more complicated as we go.
The @dnsoarc community is where the brightest minds and all the operational experience come together. To make the most of this collective knowledge, we’ve launched an initiative to publish Best Current Practice (BCP) documents.
If you’re aware of a DNS topic that urgently needs a #BCP, or if you’re interested in contributing to its creation, please share your thoughts below or connect with us on our community server!

Today (3 November) the church remembers Richard Hooker, a 16th century priest & an influential theologian of the (first) Elizabethan age. Hooker’s magnus opus, The Laws of Ecclesiastical Polity, included in Book Five, a massive defense of the #BCP against Puritan detractors (which we might do well to revisit today). Where Hooker has, perhaps, lost the #EpiscopalChurch lies with his view that the Church & the State were inseparable aspects of a single commonwealth. Despite this his perspective on the Eucharist reflects that of many modern #Episcopalians “Let it therefore be sufficient for me presenting myself at the Lord’s table to know what there I receive from him, without searching or inquiring of the manner how Christ performeth his promise, […] what these elements are in themselves it skilleth not, it is enough that to me which take them they are the body & blood of Christ.”

No, the Cloud is not "over-engineered", and other misconceptions people wrongly focus on with this recent AWS outage.

@johnclint this is sad news although not entirely unexpected.
“O God, Revealer of our Redeemer Jesus Christ, our only Savior, the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions; take away all hatred and prejudice; and whatever else may hinder us from godly union and concord, that, as there is but one Body and one Spirit, one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Creator of us all, so we may be of one heart and one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify thee, through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen. “

I’ve heard a rumor that the nominee for the next #ArchbishopOfCanterbury will be announced today. Seems like a good time to pray for the unity of the Church:
Oh God, Creator of our Redeemer Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions; take away all hatred & prejudice, & whatever else may hinder us from godly union & concord; that, as there is but one Body & one Spirit, one hope of our calling, one Redeemer, one Faith, one Baptism, one God & Creator of us all, so we all may be of one heart & of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth & peace, of faith & charity, & may with one mind & one mouth glorify You; through Jesus Christ. Amen.
(From the #Episcopal #BCP edited by me for inclusive language.)
Almighty God, we thank you for the hard & honest efforts of the nominating committee & ask your blessings on them, their chosen candidate, & all the people of the Anglican Communion. Amen.

Just like Internet RFC (Request for Comments), there exists/use to exist other Internet documents like:
- BCP (best current practices). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/bcp/
- FYI (for your information). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/fyi/
- IEN (Internet Experiment note). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/ien/PS - I mirror bunch of Internet stuff at https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/ which also lead to above findings :)

A few months ago I tried to write a Binate Covering Problem (BCP) solver, and haven't yet gotten it working.
But today I realized that writing one is a waste of time. BCP can be solved by a Max-SAT solver, and a huge amount of effort has been invested by very smart people to make those work efficiently. My feeble attempt at a BCP solver couldn't possibly do better.
Here's Python code to solve BCP using Z3's Python bindings:

Fascinating discussion of the potential revision of the #BCP happening over on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Episcopalian/s/EFoIaltsQn I’m curious: what changes would folks here like to see?

Following up a bit on this & another reply I made: the #BCP defines #sin differently than I do. According to the #catechism section “Sin is the seeking of our own will instead of the will of
God, thus distorting our relationship with God, with other people, and with all creation” (p. 848)My definition focuses on my relationship with #God whereas the BCP reminds me that God & I are not the only beings in the Universe. It also calls attention to the simple fact (truth) that sin has a ripple effect that begins from the individual then extends outward impacting those we know, those we don’t, & even all of creation. We don’t like to think of it that way. When we do, we are forced to recognize & admit that our “mistakes” can never truly be hidden & they have far-reaching effects that we may, or can, not imagine.
It’s a sobering realization & understanding. When we try to soften the words, (trespass or error instead of sin) we forget the impact our sins have beyond ourselves. 1 of ?

What is the right way to pray for me?
I’m not sure there is one. Which may be why my #prayerlife feels inadequate. I may not like the status quo however I do like having at least some basic rules or guidelines for things. That way I know when I’m breaking them. I don’t really feel like I have any guidelines for #prayer
Being #Episcopalian I do like community prayer, the kind done during worship services. I also like the prayers included in the Daily Offices of Prayer for All Seasons & the St. Helena’s Breviary, which are the 2 prayer books I use mostly frequently (aside from the #BCP ) That said, I’m not convinced every prayer done in a group or in public needs to begin with “the Lord be with you” It feels to formal or something for extemporaneous prayer.
I’ve been told that prayer is like a conversation with God, in which case, I pray a lot, although I don’t always address God by name. Some might call it thinking but there is a difference #ContemplativeKnitting #Introduction
-
How were you taught to #pray ?
I don’t recall ever being taught HOW to pray. As a kid, I recall being taught #prayers (God is great, Now I lay me down to sleep, Hail Mary & the Lord’s Prayer, among others). By the time I became a teenager I was memorizing swathes of the #BCP including prayers. But being taught how to pray or even the parts of a prayer? Not so much.
I was taught to mediate (it was the 70’s & mom was into TM, so I have a mantra I basically repeated while walking around in a dim room since I wasn’t old enough to actually sit still). I found it similar to the contemplative prayer as taught by a Benedictine monk during a prayer workshop a few years ago. That’s as close as I’ve gotten, which probably explains why I feel my #prayerlife is lacking. My prayers come from memories or books because I lack the confidence to “just pray” outside of dire circumstances. It’s one of the attractions of doing #ContemplativeKnitting #Introduction

@raymondpert Business continuity planning of primary gateway airport #Heathrow that failed to prepare for a loss of electrical power scenario seems a rather #bigfail to me. 🤦♂️ #BCP #basic101

My time alone is important to me. Solitude doesn’t scare me as I often feel I need more of it than most people. I’m also a very early bird, so today’s verse (Mark 1:35-38) resonates with me. I just never thought of sitting around (or, more commonly walking) & thinking as #prayer In fact, I’ve always felt as though my prayer life, well, sucks. I don’t really pray at all in the sense of poetic elocution. I sometimes manage a quick Thank You, God or a list of names of people I hope God will touch with grace but honestly, most of the time, I’m just thinking random stuff or making up stories/scenarios in my head. To me, that’s not prayer. But…what if it is? #TheDisciplesWay raises the questions of what did Jesus do in his solitary place? & how did he pray? I’ve never really thought about it. Part of me wants to think his prayers were more like what I see in the #BCP or just conversations with God where God talked back. What if they weren’t? What if they were more like mine? (Edit: SP)

A conversation about the 1928 Prayerbook revision (yeah I know) has reminded me of this joyful thing offered by my friend Simon a few years ago.

Both incidents were in the borough of #Poole.
Given the change in political make up of the county - Bournemouth recently kicked out it’s two Tory MPs (Tobias Elwood and Connor Burns) I’m hopeful that sound judgement can prevail at local council level too to ensure #cyclists are properly protected within road design.

Good news. First commits are completed

Farewell, #bcp. I hope you come back.
The next step is to fix an error related to the #Matrix package. It appears that some other #rstats people had similar issues as we do. -
OK, implementing #bcp in my package is not doable. The reason they were removed from CRAN would be present in my package, and I have not sufficient resources to fix bcp. Thus, removal of the bcp dependency is my only option.
