“the RBA really does not give one damn about inflation or even “inflationary expectations”. Truly – Michele Bullock has belled the cat on this now that she has admitted raising interest rates has nothing to do with inflation.
All the RBA cares about is wages growth – they do not, under any circumstances, want workers to think they should be getting a decent wage rise.
Company profits? Oh gosh, well, those need to remain strong. Bullock told reporters that companies should raise their prices to cover costs, because otherwise, in her words, “they would go bust”.

Bill Cassidy raises concerns over ICE, DHS credibility after Minneapolis shooting – The Hill
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) on Saturday expressed concern about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) reputation following another fatal shooting in Minnesota.
“The events in Minneapolis are incredibly disturbing. The credibility of ICE and DHS are at stake. There must be a full joint federal and state investigation. We can trust the American people with the truth,” Cassidy said Saturday in a post on the social platform X.
A high-ranking Minnesota public safety official said Saturday that his agency was blocked from participating in any federal investigation into the deadly shooting of Alex Pretti, noting that “we’re in uncharted territory.”
Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Superintendent Drew Evans said that after the FBI left the scene Saturday, BCA agents sought to begin their own investigation but were “unable to hold that scene, and it got run over by protesters, and we were not able to reexamine that scene.”
He added that BCA was denied access to the scene at a later time, and that after they obtained a signed search warrant, state agents were still not permitted to enter the area.
The Hill has reached out to DHS for comment.
Cassidy’s comments follow weeks of tension in Minnesota over President Trump’s immigration agenda, which escalated in the wake of the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE officer earlier this month.

Media reports have identified the agent who shot Good as Jonathan Ross. ICE agents allowed Ross to #leave the scene in the moments after the shooting, taking the weapon used in the shooting with him.
“It doesn’t preclude a state investigation, but if the feds are saying, for example, you don’t even get to look at the firearm that was used to kill this person, that would certainly complicate it,”
said #Eric J #Nelson, a defense attorney in Minneapolis with a long record of defending police officers accused of crimes.
Nelson represented Derek Chauvin in his murder trial for killing Floyd.The legal standard for proving a case of excessive force rests on the

🔹"Graham v Connor" case decided by the US supreme court in 1989.From that case flows policies governing when and how police officers can use force.

Casual workers deserve the same rights as permanent workers if they work the same hours and have been in the role for a while.

I learned about an innovation in that they use part of samples to estimate certain parameters needed for a large deviation bound. It's like #Hoefding's inequality on wheels.I know of the #BCa (biased corrected accelerated) #bootstrap method for assigning confidence intervals to #statistical estimations. Here a round of resampling is used to estimate two parameters to correct bias and accelerate sample efficiency in pinning down the accurate confidence interval.
