It's not often we see this kind of turnout in Canadian elections. It might be bad planning but I'm encouraged to see Canadians exercising their right to vote.

Conservatives beaten in New Brunswick. Possibly in BC.
I hope that the populist right is sufficiently bruised and battered by these results.

Not for nothing, but, British Columbians would at least have some answers, by now, if they just did whatever a bunch of dweebs from Halifax told them to.

#bcpoli #bcelection. It looks like the NDP and Greens will govern again together. I voted for my local Green in West Vancouver Sea to Sky even though I usually vote NDP. This NDP has drifted into some weird populist territory and we need a thoughtful policy wing to hold them to account. Needing 2 Green votes to pass confidence motions feels like a healthy check on the drift away from progressive policy.

I think a good thing, from a sustainability and #CarbonNeutral point of view is that presuming the Green Party is the kingmaker and goes with the NDP, the B.C. #CarbonTax would remain. #BCElection #BCElxn2024

@chris it’s a shame Sonia Furstenau wasn’t elected. I’m still confused why she chose to run in an NDP stronghold. #bcpoli #bcelection

It’s terrifying that a last minute rag tag group of political opportunists, funded by special interests, can capture the votes of so many citizens on the premise that any change is better than a steady hand on governance.

A Kelowna riding might go NDP (the fuck?!) because… of vote splitting? #bcpoli #bcelection

Greens, you’re cute and all, but would you PLEASE STOP SPLITTING THE FUCKING LEFT VOTE?! #bcpoli #bcelection

#voted in the #BCElection. Christina Winter for the #bcgreenparty in Victoria—Swan Lake
I really don't like the new electronic counting machines. I don't think it's practical to make a tampering attack using them because of the paper ballot, but there's no reliable way to ensure secrecy of the ballot to protect against vote coercion.
There's just no way to ensure by looking at the machine that it isn't exfiltrating a timestamped record of the votes.

@kimlockhartga It is good that a vote by phone option is available - #CovidSafe #BCElection option has been used a lot in this provincial election 👍

Reminder for people voting today: you can vote at any polling place in BC. If voting outside your riding and if you don't know the name of your preferred candidate, you can write in the name of the party leader and party. Example: David Eby, NDP
