Im März dreht sich alles um den Klassiker unter den Foren-Lösungen: bbPress in der Praxis.
Ein Forum ist oft das Herzstück einer Community – doch wie schlägt es sich in der modernen Welt des Full Site Editing (FSE)? Das finden wir gemeinsam heraus.
Was erwartet Euch konkret?Installation & Setup: Wir zeigen die Einbindung von bbPress in ein modernes FSE-Theme am Beispiel von Twenty Twenty-Four (TT4).
Das Ökosystem: Welche Plugins sind wirklich sinnvoll, um bbPress zu erweitern und funktionaler zu machen?
Live-Demo: Keine trockenen Folien! Wir versuchen, das Ganze so weit wie möglich live am System umzusetzen, damit ihr jeden Schritt nachvollziehen könnt.

Neuerung ab 2026: Gemeinsame Online-Events
Ab 2026 bündeln wir unsere Kräfte: Das WordPress Meetup Bonn, das WordPress Meetup Südsauerland und – zum ersten Mal mit dabei – das WordPress Meetup Köln werden ihre Online-Events künftig gemeinsam durchführen.
Das Wichtigste auf einen Blick:
Wann? Immer am ersten Mittwoch in allen ungeraden Monaten.
Was ändert sich? Für die Bonner Community bleibt der gewohnte Rhythmus bestehen, während wir durch die neue Dreier-Konstellation eine noch größere Vielfalt an Themen abdecken können.
Warum machen wir das?
Durch diesen Zusammenschluss möchten wir unsere Kompetenzen bündeln und die Qualität unserer Meetups weiter steigern. Für Euch bedeutet das: Mehr Experten-Wissen, spannenderer Austausch und ein noch größerer Nutzen für Eure tägliche Arbeit mit WordPress.Wir freuen uns riesig auf dieses neue Kapitel und auf ein Wiedersehen mit vielen alten Bekannten sowie das Kennenlernen neuer Gesichter aus Bonn, Köln und dem Südsauerland!

As both a Fediverse and a #WordPress developer, I fully agree with Darnell on #BuddyPress and #bbPress being WordPress tech that should integrate ActivityPub ASAP!

@pfefferle I look forward to seeing this federated future! Ironically, the main reason I signed up with @wordpressdotcom was because of the #ActivityPub plugin.
I think with a few tweaks, #WordPress could become the super app within the #Fediverse.
I do hope the #BuddyPress & #bbPress teams jump on board, as greater ActivityPub integration could help rejuvenate these social WordPress “projects” (as they would provide competitive balance against #Facebook & #Reddit).

Could 2024 or 2025 have a slight uptick in just old fashion forums? the #bbPress part of me that has been asleep for a while would welcome it. #webdev

@mattmedeiros @thewpminute I would have to decline as, at most, I only have speculations about the future of #WordPress.
It is interesting now that WordPress has embraced #ActivityPub that someone could launch their own #Reddit like forum via #bbPress or #Facebook like social network via #BuddyPress & be connected to the #Fediverse.

@fediversereport @fediversenews having all forums, blogs and microblogs linked up via #ActivityPub will be phenomenal. #WordPress is a pretty major backbone in that. I'm guessing it would also mean #bbPress would implement #ActivityPub too.

Need a bit more #wordpress advice. I have an enormous json file that was sent to me from a bravenet forum (they are a closed system). I'd like to import this into a #bbpress forum on Wordpress. I have no idea how to do this, and don't know who to ask? Any suggestions welcome!

Made some good progress today with AdRotate Pro for #WordPress - Post Injection is coming to #WooCommerce and #bbPress soon.
For AdRotate Banner Manager I've also expanded the Post Injection feature a bit. -
