Back in the late 70s early 80s not everybody bought the radio times and TV times or a Daily newspaper, so at about 7pm (after the local news) the BBC at least would give you an outline of what was being broadcast to the rest the evening this was put as a schedule as a list on the screen and they would also read it out. This would be at least a minute. #bbc #bbctv

Disappointed in the BBC2 "University Challenge at 60" documentary not mentioning, even in passing, its origin in the US show "College Bowl" or acknowledging the long serving announcer Jim Pope (or Dom Murray-Henderson before him) whilst having a section on Roger Tilling. They did however seem to have a full copy of the original Granada version of the theme (Derek New's College Boy). #uktv #BBCTV
