Is anybody technical out there who might have any suggestions? I just got a new laptop One of the things I use it for it to stream TV from BBC iPlayer, Channel 4, ITVx etc. I hook the laptop to the telly with a HDMI cable so we can watch it on a bigger screen. Anyway, most things work just fine except for BBC iPlayer which seems to lag, delay and stutter when going through the HDMI cable. If I unplug the cable it plays fine on the laptop - it's only when the cable is plugged in that it starts to happen. Ch4 and ITVx work with no problem through the same setup. I tried using iplayer in different browsers but it made no difference.
iPlayer didn't do this this on my (very) old laptop through the same HDMI cable.
Do I need a better HDMI cable? -

The #bbc_iplayer feed seems to be 1 minute delayed behind the #Freeview feed which was itself delayed with respect to analogue TV back when they were still being transmitted.
Gone are the days when I would hear simultaneous yells emanating from open windows as I walk outside avoiding watching major sporting events.
Wonder if I can figure out what service people are tuned into based on the delay.
