The planets #Jupiter + #Venus + #Mercury (in the gap between trees in the lower right) again, on 7 June from the #Eschenberg in the #BavarianForest where a public observatory with a 1-meter (!) telescope is under construction: https://bayern.naturparke.de/2026/04/29/baustart-fuer-die-naturpark-sternwarte-bayerwald/ - the much smaller telescope here is pointed at Jupiter.

Today I returned to #SOTA DM/BM-047 Großer Arber (#WWFF DLFF-0043, #POTA DE-0011). It was the first summit I ever activated for the program in 2005 - I lived and worked in the region back then. Conditions were nice again after the geomagnetic storm yesterday and I had 27 QSOs in about 30 minutes. The fingers are getting stiff after some time. With a severe geomagnetic storm going on chances are low for a successful #SOTA or #WWFF activation. We chose a walk throgh the nature reserve Pfahl near #Viechtach instead. The weather in the pictures looks worse than it really was: On top of #SOTA DM/BM-002 Pröller (#WWFF DLFF-0043, #POTA DE-0011) we had light winds and no rain at about 8 °C. But there were only a few chasers and I finished the activation with 8 QSOs on #20m after about 20 minutes.
