So James Orkshop (now know only as Warhammer) has live streamed the first ever 11th edition battle report. On Twitch and on YouTube.

Since it was a holiday and I had literally nothing to do I thought „why not watch it“. Oh boy.

Now W’hamster TV is not new to the streaming game. By no measurement. And yet they still fail at the basics.

Stream started on time? Haha, you wish. And when it started we only got audio. Which was a nice exception because usually you get video and no audio and also that was fixed in a relatively short time.

But the audio we got was very quiet. At times barely audible because some background music was running on 11. Very annoying.

Then the game started although only as a small window in the lower right corner while the two commentator blokes kept on yapping about the lists. Come on, it’s a live battle report, let me in on the action.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we got the playing area in big mode. Did we get table banter? No, still the two lads in the off talking about everything.

I continued to watch for about 5 to 10 minutes and then got bored to death. Miniatures didn’t seem to move at all, comments where abysmal and for such a big company having only one camera angle was really disappointing. You’d thing to promote your new hot stuff they would do more then the usual but no.

Well, if you enjoyed the stream more power to you. I’m not showing up for another until 12th edition or so.

We’re back to normal boys!

My dice have decided to behave more like ork dice again. Meaning: from 24+ dice shooting only a small portion hit and even less wound.

Also the only weapon capable of wounding the Chaos Dreadnought got knocked out in turn 3 and subsequentially the Dreadnought ran around slaughtering units.

On the plus side: rules start to get a bit easier. Though some question still pop up that we couldn’t find a rule for in the core rulebook.

• What happens when a fast vehicle (wartrukk) needs to go through enemy infantry. Can it go through? It can’t do tank shock. Does it need to go around enemy infantry?

Well, we stopped without having reached any result but it was more or less inevitable that he would win in the next turn.

Maybe next time I’ll bring Space Smurfs? Or Chaos? Or Tyranids?

So I won again. With the new list.

My Shooty Boyz killed the Chaos General in turn 1.

My Trukk killed his dread in turn 1.

And even as my Slugga Boys got decimated and ran off the table: I still won.

Again a combination of me rolling great for shooting attack and my friend failing to save anything and not hitting anything in his shooting phase.

In the last turn I still had my Wartrukk and most of my Shooty Boyz. And the last standing nurgly deamon ran away… it ran AWAY!

There must be something wrong! XD

0 Failed at deployment, Rhinos are bad, leave Infantry outside. Opponent had 2x DW Knights in reserve

1 lost transport, shot scouts and a few inner circle

2 lost dominions and Seraphim, Vahlgons killed intercessors and repulsor

3 Showdown: Vahl vs Lion, Lion survived with 1 wound even with 2 full Castigators and Fidelis+Miracle Dice. Really bad luck

0. Messed up deployment (Castigator blocked own Rhino)
1. Went too offensive with Immolator and lost it in center. DA cover left objective with Deathwing Knights and right objective with Lion
2. Vahlgons rapid ingress to kill DW Knights but fail their charge. Support from Castigator. DA control 4 objectives, so giving up.

Lost my Castigator round 1 (opponent rolled six or seven 6s in one attack of the Lemon Russ Commander). Paragons killed the Commander but fell to his fight on death ability. Celestians never made it into melee.

Rest of the sisters held really well and mid game were first by one point 51-50. Sadly lost 56-66.

- Celestians are really bad. Trying Palatine with Dominions next.
- Immolators, BSS, Dominions are good

Played a game of Legion Imperialis. We did several things wrong, but had a lot of fun. It was a tight battle, but the mechanicum edged out a victory against my imperial guard.

Now to decide how to expand to a 1500 point list.

Clan Jade Falcon, Gamma Galxy vs Clan Smoke Jaguar, Psi Galaxy (I think, based on grey with blue highlights) Despite the aggressive crusader Clans, the wall slowed down the game a bit initially. Also the Jaguars were having some equipment trouble (using the wrong side of the tape measure).

It is the same battle report but with added segments where I jump in and talk about what I was thinking during the game and where I think I made mistakes while playing.
