West Midlands #Metro has been shortlisted in five categories at this year’s Global Light Rail Awards, which will be held at #Battersea #Arts Centre in #London on 7 October.
The network is in contention for Operator of the Year and the Significant Safety Initiative award. Revenue Supervisor Matthew Brittain is nominated for Employee of the Year, while Infrastructure Permanent Way Team Leader Dale Bayliss is shortlisted for Rising Star. Metro’s Learning and Development Team is also a finalist for Team of the Year.
The nominations follow Metro’s success last year, when it won Most Improved System. Managing Director Sophie Allison said the recognition reflected the team’s commitment to providing a safe and reliable service as the network prepares to expand to destinations including Dudley.

#Transport for #London Have Your Say:
#TfL is proposing changes to routes 19 and 38, as well as introducing a new route 10. Route 19 would be extended to Victoria Station, while Route 38 would be rerouted between Clapton Pond and Holborn. A new Route 10 would operate between Mildmay Park and #Battersea Bridge. Routes N19 and N38 remain unaffected.
Public feedback is sought until 23 January 2026. The proposed changes aim to improve reliability and better align bus services with customer demand, while simplifying the network. While these changes could create new links, some passengers may experience longer travel times and increased bus congestion. Interchange points at Angel station have been identified to assist affected passengers.
