I am now looking at the news essentially just once or twice a day, and each day it seems like it skips ahead two weeks worth of nonsense.

Kooky #RussellBrand has an absolutely insane new video out where he (dubiously) links atmospheric plastic particulate pollution to falling fertility rates and "emasculation" of men.
Then he pivots to raging about "artificial wombs" while showing a CGI concept video from a supposed company called EctoLife that promises to grow human babies in a lab. The only article I can find about this is from the Economic Times in India.
(No, I'm not linking to any of this horseshit!)
The concept video comes from science communicator Hashem Al-Ghaili, who has a YouTube channel with 500k subscribers. He also has given several TED talks. Other videos from his channel include a flying nuclear-powered resort aircraft. It seems Al-Ghaili's main focus is far-future speculation.
I don't know whether the artificial-womb concept is a serious proposal or whether this company exists. But Brand sure wants you to be worried and upset about it. Whether this actually exists isn't really the point. What resonates for me, is how easy it is for people to spread completely bogus conspiracy theories and get people worked up.
Brand's hysteria over artificial wombs is also tied to the so-called "Russian #qanon" Which is a real conspiracy theory circulating in the #putin inner circle, that's driving real death and destruction in the #UkraineWar
