I've just realised that Alan Napier was 63 when he was playing Alfred. Gulp! That's my age…
Actually, looking at him, you can see he's in the prime of life. Just a bit of a kid, really.

This morning, I was introduced to the term 'Brontësaurus,' which had me in stitches, and went down the rabbit hole of looking up who else had thought of that portmanteau (like any other normal person with a thriving social life would). Ended up discovering chapter #47 of the Batman '66 digital comic (written by Jeff Parker, with art by Mike Allred and Scott Kowalchuk; screenshot via the BrontëBlog: https://bronteblog.blogspot.com/2014/11/batman-vs-robotic-emily-bronte-saurus.html), which features the villain Bookworm piloting a mechanical steampunk dino, having trapped Batman and Robin inside a gigantic copy of 'Wuthering Heights'.
I'm seriously 1000x more intrigued to read this comic now than to watch the Emerald Fennell film. Chances are, it's probably more respectful to the source material, too.

Blu-ray boxed set worth every penny; introduced ourselves just the other night to 'Bookworm' (#RoddyMcDowell!) - unpublished author taking revenge in fiendishly designed villainy.
And the 35mm film scanned for this release holds detail unavailable to original viewers (noting that USA's NTSC video format had even poorer resolution than Europe's PAL). What else do you suppose was in his library?

Sixty years ago today, the Batman TV series premiered on ABC, starring Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin. The first episode, “Hi Diddle Riddle”, pitted the Dynamic Duo against the self-styled ‘Count of Conundrums’, the Riddler (Frank Gorshin).

A very special Batty Birthday to Burt Ward, alias Robin, the 'Boy' Wonder, who turns 80 years young today!
Holy octogenarian, Batman!

Eartha Kitt (age 27) guest hosted the penultimate episode of NBC's live, 90-minute variety program YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS #OTD in 1954.
She was already a veteran performer, with hit songs and solo albums and appearances on Broadway.

A very happy 90th birthday to Lee Meriwether!
Lovely Lee has appeared in many of my favourite TV series and films, including, of course, Star Trek and Batman (as far as I’m concerned, she is still the best movie Catwoman). But it was when Lee played Dr Ann MacGregor on The Time Tunnel that a very young Roo first lost his heart to her.
All my very best wishes to a very special lady.

Apparently, it's Trading Cards for Adults Day. No, I don’t know who comes up with these things either.
The first cards I remember collecting appeared in shops in 1966. These were The Riddler's Riddle, featuring scenes from the Batman TV series and movie. A delightful set of 38 cards, each with—as the name suggests—a riddle to solve on the back.
One of my earliest memories is of opening a packet and discovering the cards inside were in Dutch.

“I was in dire need of tremendous help at that time…And it helped me grow back into a successful name again. People recognized my name, and still do, because of Catwoman.”

Batman '66 was my introduction to Batman. And Started my live long love of the character and all things Batman.
Batman '89 was just an amazing movie. And solidified why I love the character. -

I found something in the backups. Nine years ago, I edited Batman: The Movie to the music from Mad Max: Fury Road. I don't remember why, probably on some weird impulse, but I remember having fun. I really like both movies. So please enjoy this super short trailer.

I know it will seem silly to some, but I am beyond delighted to hear that Corgi Toys are rereleasing the 1960s Batmobile.
This was THE toy of my youth. As a boy, in the 1960s, I raced my Batmobile out of the 'Batcave' under the sofa and across the carpet to Gotham City (14 miles according to the TV show). That toy brought me so much joy at a difficult time in my life. I own a beat up Corgi Batmobile and another that I restored, but I can't wait to buy a pristine new one.

Julie Newmar is 91 today.
In 2009 she told me her secret to aging gracefully.
"Good energy," she said. "Optimism. Positive thinking is important." 👑

I’m a fan of the #Batman television series (aka #Batman66) and was happy to see #JulieNewmar in a supporting role in #Columbo season 2 episode 8. In the episode titled #DoubleShock, #MartinLandau plays both twins, and it’s one of the very few episodes where we do not know the identity of the murderer until the very end. — #CineMastodon #Columbodon

“When people meet me, they think they know me, but they’re not sure from where. They think they went to school with me!”
#EricShea is 63 today.
The former child star was a familiar face in the 1960s and '70s, from #Batman66 to #ThePoseidonAdventure (1972) to #LittleHouse. He retired at age 18 and became an electrician!

@willmckinley My nieces still loved it when it reran here a few years ago now, #JulieNewmar's glooorious #Catwoman maybe the most, so it still works if people just get to see it.
Unfortunately they never show S3 here, but even the first 2 being on TV is welcome the rare times it happens.
I'm undecided on whether I like or liked #GreenHornet more than #Batman66, so put me down for both if they're on.
