sooo the Eastwood Bass VI i ordered arrived last night! so far much, much better than the Squire Bass VI, and less than 2x the price... not gonna lie, it feels kind of weird to spend almost $1000 on a guitar that's made in China, but it was too interesting to pass up! i have a feeling it will be useful both for writing new music and for double (or triple) tracking basslines in my home studio :)

Semi-Hollow JazzMaster Bass VI Build Update:

It’s finally nearing completion!

Recent progress:
Drilled holes for pots and output jack.
So much sanding, up to 320 grit. Applied several coats of Z-poxy as sealant/pore filler. Then more sanding.
Sprayed many thin coats of 2K ClearMax Gloss finish.
More interminable (wet) sanding up to 2000 grit. Polishing.

Next up:
Routing out a recess for the electronics cavity cover, and laying out where the F-hole is going on the top.
