This is the new kid on the block, although it’s a 2014 bass - it’s like new! A Maruszczyk Elwood absolution 5a in the most beautiful blue burst over flamed maple all over, with MoP binding around the whole thing. I’m stunned by the appearance and the sound is excellent too - the glockenklang preamp in this thing is silent!

Current project: a little bit of TLC on this Westone Thunder 1 bass which I’ve had for about 35 years now. Japanese made in the Matsumoku factory, this one was built in 1984 and is the passive version, with an ash, maple and walnut body, and a rosewood fingerboard. It’s all original, apart possibly from the nut, although I’m not sure about that - I certainly haven’t changed it.
