A public apology regarding BassBoom v1.0 Launchpad PPA
When BassBoom v1.0 was released, we had expected that this version of the music player would be available to all package managers in various platforms, such as WinGet for Windows, Launchpad PPA for Ubuntu, and other packaging methods for different systems.
However, a technical issue caused us to be unable to push the Ubuntu packages for this version of BassBoom, which made it unavailable for those who rely on our Ubuntu PPA to install BassBoom to their Ubuntu systems.
We sincerely apologize for the unavailability of the Launchpad PPA packages for BassBoom v1.0, but it was out of our control and we couldn’t solve it ourselves.
Today, we have made the BassBoom v1.0 package available in our Launchpad PPA, which you can check out here.
Additionally, we have finalized the support periods for future BassBoom versions, which you can find here.

BassBoom v1.0 sets a new, bright future for playing songs and radio stations!
Since the first alpha release of BassBoom more than two years ago, it used to be minimalistic and simple. Since then, we’ve added many new features and improvements that enhanced the stability of BassBoom and its Basolia library. libmpg123 was used as a native library backend to play music files that are in an MPEG format, such as MP3 files.
This was in response to a lack of adequate minimal, cross-platform music player library written in C# for general-purpose applications, such as console applications and graphical user interface (GUI) programs.
It has gone through two API iterations where we made improvements to the Basolia library that increased its stability. This was done when we were releasing version v0.2.x, with one of them aiming for support for .NET 10.0.
We are so excited to announce that BassBoom has entered a new era!
BassBoom v1.0!
This version of BassBoom revolutionizes the way you use the Basolia library that went through a major restructure, which makes application development with the Basolia library easier than never before.
With the core functionality remaining intact, we have also managed to add complete support for FreeBSD systems! Now, if you are using FreeBSD 15.0 or higher, you should be able to listen to music through BassBoom!
Additionally, this version contains two new applications for quick playing. BassBoom.QuickPlay is a minimal console application that focuses on just one thing: playing MP3 files, nothing else. BassBoom.QuickRadio is another minimal application that plays your favorite radio station right from your console.
BassBoom v1.0 is available as of today on GitHub and all other official packaging methods! You can download this version and learn more about it:

BassBoom v1.0 will be released soon
BassBoom v1.0 has been under constant planning for two years, while other projects were being developed to form the foundation of this version of BassBoom.
For the last two weeks, we have worked on FreeBSD support for our C# projects, starting with SpecProbe’s support for FreeBSD which started with version v3.8.1. Since then, we’ve been continually improving SpecProbe’s structure to tighten support for FreeBSD while improving experience for existing platforms.
BassBoom v1.0 now has a clear path, which is to bring music player and radio player support to FreeBSD, while improving the codebase to ensure that fewer bugs occur.
BassBoom v1.0 will be upgradable from v0.2 when it comes to Windows Installer, but can be installed side-by-side on Ubuntu PPA installations. Your music grooves will be taken to the next level as we introduce more features to BassBoom.
