Die vierteilige SWR-Reihe „MARIO BASLER – Letzter Typ“. Sehr unterhaltsam, war auch nicht anders zu erwarten. Aber es wird auch versucht, ein bisschen hinter die typischen #Basler-Sprüche und verqualmte Fassade zu gehen… und das funktioniert für mich.

If you do not know about Basler, they do a spinner to tailcone rebuild of DC-3/C-47 airframes and hang a pair of Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67R engines with Max continuous 1,220 shaft H.P., and add a full Genesys glass avionics package.

The BT-67 is well-known around the world for making a stout and dependable airframe even more impressive.

One of the issues on Ingenuity early flights was the navigation camera dropping frames, which in turns caused timestamp issues in subsequent frames. Having spent a non-trivial amount of time fighting dropped frames and inaccurate timestamps I'm comforted by NASA having similar issues...

The SuperTIGER II rescue team (A.K.A. Rescue Rangers) flew out from McMurdo to the #payload landing site recently using a Twin Otter plane.

#USAP personnel made great progress ahead of their arrival digging and dismantling the #gondola which was buried deep in the snow after three years in the ice.

The instrument is now ready to be picked up by the #Basler plane (Antarctic version of a Douglas DC-3) when it's available for final recovery.

My favourite aircraft, the #DC3. This one is based at Enterprise Aviation, #Oshawa Ontario. A hard-working plane, often seen between seasons over my neighbourhood. Stunning beast. No mistaking that engine sound.
