Inflation?
2015 kostete die von uns verwendete Barcode-Software einmalig 168 €. Seitdem läuft die ohne Probleme, macht also 16,80 € pro Jahr.
Heute möchte die Firma, dafür im Abo 249 € pro Jahr.In meinem "ich stelle alles auf Linux um" Projekt fehlt leider noch eine brauchbare Barcode Software. Hat irgendwer einen Tipp? Wir brauchen EAN/GS1 Barcodes die wir dann als Grafik oder PDF in Label übernehmen können.

Den größeren Skandal finde ich ja noch, dass in Deutschland im voraus zahlende Studierende wegen angeblichem #Schwarzfahren angegangen werden, weil ohne Not kaputte Digitalzwänge beim #Dticket-#Semesterticket eingeführt wurden:
Apps waren nicht fertig bei Einführung, Chipkarten gibt es nicht in allen Regionen, teils nur unter der Hand (ohne Info auf Verkehrsverbund-Webseite) und manchmal wurden sie fälschlich auf Sperrliste gesetzt zum neuen Semester, weil Chipkarten-Verwaltung und Ausgabe kompliziert ist.
#Appzwang-#Semesterticket ist noch nicht als Ungleichbehandlung zu anderen Dticket-Kund*innen verboten... (die haben Wahl einer Chipkarte und Millionen nutzen sie, weil eigentlich safer als Handyticket).
Klar, wenn jemand Signierungsschlüssel verschlürt, können Menschen damit Barcodes generieren... Das heisst nicht, dass druckbarer #Barcode doof und Menschen ausschließende Smartphone-Tickets (mit empfindlichen Displays oder schwachen Akkus) dufte sind.
Wie viel Geld könnten wir sparen und in den #Nahverkehr investieren, wenn wir wie in #Luxemburg kostenlosen Nahverkehr für alle in der 2. Klasse einführen... keine blöden Apps, keine nervigen Kontrollen. Alle dürfen mitfahren (mit Lichtbildausweis, egal aus welchem Land). Keine Menschen, die wegen "Schwarzfahren" ins Gefängnis kommen, weil sie Strafe nicht zahlen können.

Digital driver’s #licenses — have a big problem that almost nobody is addressing: the likelihood that once they make it very frictionless to share our #ID, we are likely to be bombarded by requests from all quarters to prove who we are. That’s a huge threat to our #privacy. There is, however, a set of existing laws in the states that point to a solution for this problem: regulations governing who may scan the bar codes on physical #IDs.

Wenn es NUR um Kosten des Ticket ginge: Als digitales Bild vorzeigbarer, aber auch auf Papier ausdruckbarer #Barcode, wäre für Studierende eine günstig pro Semester ausgebbare Alternative zur Chipkarte. Das MUSS die Bundespolitik auch ins #Regionalisierungsgesetz zum #Deutschlandticket schreiben und ermöglichen, sonst werden weiter zahlende Kund*innen vom #ÖPNV ausgeschlossen!
Manchmal behaupten #Verkehrsunternehmen aber auch nur, sie wären die Stärkeren und im Recht: Erst konstruktiver, dann lauter Protest, z.B. beim #AStA oder im Büro des Verkehrsunternehmen, kann helfen, eine #Chipkarte doch zu bekommen! Am besten aber in einer solidarischen Gruppe mehrerer Menschen, damit es nicht zu Gewalt von Seiten der Mitarbeiter*innen des Verkehrsunternehmen kommt.
Es wäre so schön und einfach gesetzlich (oder aus gutem Willen) machbar, das Teilhabe am öffentlichen #Nahverkehr als #Grundbedürfnis für alle Menschen ermöglicht wird. Ein nutzbares Ticket zu bekommen muss sich nicht nach Kampf anfühlen, und in einem der reichsten Länder der Welt müsste eigentlich auch niemand ins Gefängnis, weil er oder sie z.B. kein Geld fürs Ticket hatte, trotzdem ist das hier so: Scheisse, aber wahr.
Es muss wohl bewusste politische #Diskriminierung des #ÖPNV gegenüber dem #Auto sein, das die Ticket-Regelungen weiter möglichst Kund*innen-unfreundlich gestaltet werden, und günstige, selbst ausdruckbare Ticketvarianten gesetzlich verboten wurden.

#ZBar is a #barcode reader suite.
ZBar can read many forms of barcodes, including #ISBN, #EAN, #UPC, and #QR codes. ZBar features two programs which can detect and decode barcodes, one that operates on images, and another which operates on video4linux streams like webcams. The results of both are printed to stdout, allowing them to be piped into other programs easily.

GNU Barcode can generate barcodes for several barcode formats, including the #EAN, #UPC, #ISBN, and #CODE128 formats. GNU Barcode can also generate many barcodes listed in a text file, outputting a table which can be cut out into individual barcodes. The generated barcodes may be outputted in Postscript or PCL which can be printed without conversion.
