Today’s listening is ‘Gone To Earth’, the 1977 album by Barclay James Harvest.
This is a pleasant enough album, though I generally find BJH to be a tad dull, unfortunately.
It does boast a very nice sleeve design though!
The melody to the track ‘Poor Man’s Moody Blues’ is clearly a rip-off of ‘Nights In White Satin’ by The Moody Blues (I guess the clue being in the song title)-but how did they get away with this without being sued?!
Perhaps no-one cared...

Beichte zur Nacht: zum Einschlafen höre ich gerne "Berlin - A Concert for the People" von #BarclayJamesHarvest.
Mit Sicherheit das am schlechtesten produzierte Live-Album der Musikgeschichte.

It really doesn't sound dated at all, to my ears at least.
"The World Goes On" still gives me a warm melancholy feeling. It has, in my opinion, the perfect mix of straight folk-songwriting vibe with strings / extra studio arrangement thingies.
Much better balanced than the echoey over-produced crap that came after. Although I have a hugely weak spot for #GoneToEarth, since it was one of the first records I owned as a kid.
