»Komiksowe zapowiedzi na grudzień’25«Już za kilka dni Mikołajki, a niedługo po nich Święta Bożego Narodzenia. Czyli – poza uświęconym czasem dla osób obdarzonych łaską wiary – pora prezentów, jedzeniowego rozpasania oraz kilku dni odpoczynku od codziennych obowiązków (dojdą za to inne, te niecodzienne). Poza tym dobiega końca rok 2025. Niedługo rozpocznie się kalendarzowa zima. Podsumowując – jest to dobry, jeśli nie najlepszy moment, by obdarzyć kogoś (albo po prostu samego siebie) przynajmniej jednym komiksem. To na pewno będzie miły prezent.

The cartoon-headed assassins Hazel and Cha Cha, Barbarella, Zero's conscience Armadillo, a surly grackle from Austin, a warning about the horrors of home taping, and the beloved children's character Goosio (may he rest in peace).

I knew about the existence of "Barbarella" (1968) for long enough to say forever. It's a shamelessly erotic and silly, if not goofy, science-fiction bit. It's actually quite decent story-wise if you ignore that Barbarella changes her clothes every 10 minutes because the previous one were destroyed. It was a surprise to see the main actor from week-before "Blowup." I found the character of Pygar, a blind angel, to be the most interesting. No follow-up ever managed to emerge.

Yesterday was spent with peers & acquaintances to celebrate the passing of a long time regular. Memorial service, cleansing rituals, pot luck dinner, dancing at #MementoMori #Barbarella #Orlando. So I wondered what happens if you combined the campiest elements of the Flash Gordon serials, 1960s Barbarella, and a dash of Captain Proton. Then had a lead as a dashing trans dude facing up against an evil empire and constantly getting his shirt ripped in between seducing the local princesses (a la James T Kirk).
If you want some silly queer camp retro scifi, I'll be dropping mini chapters every now and then on my accounts here...

For a film as popular as this, I'm struggling to see what the appeal is. Yes, Fonda defines a generation as the sex-crazed space adventurer but this goofy, incomprehensible effort is borderline unwatchable today. 😬
