  1. Over 1,400 Las Piñas City Senior Citizens Receive 1st Quarter Pension

Recently in Las Piñas City, more than one thousand four hundred senior citizens from three different barangays received their social pension of P3,000 each for the first quarter this year, the City Government announced. Mayor April Aguilar personally attended the distribution and met with the constituents.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the City Government’s announcement (translated from Tagalog). Some parts in boldface…

More than 1,400 senior citizens from Barangay Pulanglupa Dos, Manuyo Dos, and CAA have personally received their P3,000 Social Pension for the first quarter of 2026.

Payout was done at Aguilar Sports Complex where our grandparents were comfortable waiting to be called for their pension.

Mayor April also reminded our seniors of the programs the city provides freely to them to better care for their health and well-being. Because in Las Piñas, caring is not just a word.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are a resident of Las Piñas City, what is your reaction to this development? Do you personally know any local senior citizens who received their respective social pension fund?

Join us on April 25 at Villar Children’s Farm for fun activities, expert talks, and treats for you and your pup.

Las Piñas City, April 13, 2026 – Dog lovers and owners are in for a fun-filled event as fourth-year Multimedia Arts students from Southville International School and Colleges bring PAWradise: A Summer Dog Fair to Villar Children’s Farm on April 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

For ₱250, guests gain access to a lineup of activities, learning, and entertainment for both pets and their humans.

Pup-Ups will feature a variety of pet treats, supplies, and essentials from participating merchants.

One of the highlights of the program is Pup-Talk, featuring Dr. Geoff Carullo, current president of the Philippine College of Canine Practitioners. The Pawshion Show is a summer-themed dress-up competition where participants dress up their dogs and walk together in coordinated matching outfits. The competition is limited to the first 15 registrants, with a ₱200 participation fee that already includes access to the whole event. Winners will take home prizes, including vouchers from event sponsors.

The Southville Society of Entrepreneurs (SSE) will also host a dog food donation drive, where guests may drop off kibble, canned food, or bowls. All donations will be turned over to the Brgy. Manuyo Dos Mini Pound.
