Was a privilege this Easter morning to baptise 4 new members, confirm 14 more, and receive by transfer 3 more (2 from Zimbabwe) new members into our small church membership, in the year before we build our brand new building (our church has been around for over 120 years now, and bits of the current building are only a year or two newer than that, and roof leaks in several parts of it are common). One phrase that sticks out to me is: “People move around from #Church to Church as they grow in the faith.” I’m not sure I agree with it. I’ve attended many churches in my life, mostly because my location has changed. Although I have sampled different denominations, I remain Episcopalian by choice. Neither moving nor sampling was motivated by a change in my #faith although both contributed to my spiritual growth. I find it interesting that the author attributes changing churches to changes in faith because I don’t see that in my experience. Perhaps I’m just blessed to have been born into the right denomination at the right time for my faith, which makes me curious: have you changed/moved churches because of a change in faith? What was your experience like?

This will be my first appearance to the ⛪, while not my first ever attended ⛪. Technically it may be my 3rd,
However the 1st one I was going to I vaguely remember since I was under 5 years old then. The 2nk one I had a lot of childhood memories going there use to be my primary however since, it's an hour away, and I'm learning to ride the bus I took my time picking a good quality one that was closer for bus travel for me
This 3rd one that I'm going to, at age 26 tomorrow on Sunday. It's been nearly 10 years for me since I actively went to a ⛪, so this is why this is 🆕 for me. I can't drive (because I have slower in quick real time reaction situation) so i'l be ridding the #publicbus to it. (luckily the ⛪ is a close ride under 45 minutes. (closer to a 30 minute ride)
This ⛪ believes in the trinity, and to my knowledge (although i'l have to ask to get direct confirmation.) they'l be following the kings james bible. in other words, it's a pretty decent ⛪ they follow the word closely. This is going by the website, not in person conversation plus there more specific question i'l have to ask them in person.
If you're interested, they directly tell you *what it is they believe in the link I provided above, I feel most Christians that try to follow the word closely, might also like this ⛪ 's standings. But I'm open to any interpretation or comment if anyone finds out anything interesting that proves otherwise specifically of this ⛪

Some #theological hills I am willing to die on:
1) The plenary inspiration of #scripture
2) At bare minimum, adherence to the #doctrines proclaimed by the first four Councils of the undivided #church must be upheld.
3) The #eucharist / #lordssupper ought to be celebrated *weekly*.
4) The #eucharist / #lordssupper , while symbolic, is not merely symbolic but also a true/real encounter/communion with Jesus.
5) #Baptism *must* be done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
6) Baptism is #regenerative
7) #Liturgical #worship is essential because the #bible itself reveals the Church’s worship as liturgical.
8) The #unity of the Church is not merely a spiritual reality (i.e. invisible), but a reality that ought to be visible for all the world to see.
9) Except in the cases of #heresy or wholesale unrepentant #sin within a portion of the Church, rending the Church’s unity is sinful. (So, disagreements over adiaphora are not worthy of division -- no matter how much one love's their pet theological theory)
10) All #christians must pray for and actively work towards and for the reunification of the Church. -

The Christian’s #clothing, in a word, is Christ.
We must manifest the characteristics and thus the behavior of Christ. If we are Christ’s, then in the end, we will share in His resurrection.
Therefore may we all put on Christ in #baptism, be saved, and obtain the #resurrection of life!

My little niece got baptised yesterday (Methodists do infant #baptism).
She was so sweet. They had to stand in the front before the stage, and the minister came down to do the ceremony. At one point, sitting in her mother's arms, she reached down and plucked the offering basket off the stage. The minister said, "Oh, she's going to be a church girl; she's a steward in the making!"
She also didn't cry once. Not even when the minister was drawing the cross on her forehead with the water. She just looked at him as if to say, "Dude, what are you DOING?!" :-D

And what shape does that gratitude take? It is found in the #Christian celebration of Holy #Eucharist, the first act after one enters a new way of life after #Baptism. Eucharist means “thanksgiving” and it serves to remind us, in part, that creation is both gift and a means to encounter God. It is the tuning fork that helps us harmonize a life of gratitude for the salvation effected and freely offered through #Jesus.
