Now off for a ride on what must be Sydney Trains' oddest sector, T6.
The direct connection between Bankstown and the city (east of Bankstown) is closed for conversion to Metro. Trains on the other side of Bankstown are operating as a shuttle to Lidcombe (north of Bankstown). So, if you want to take a train on one of the three stations solely served by T6 to the city, you have to travel in the opposite direction, then change trains.
The trains used on this line are 4 car M Sets, or Millennium Trains. During their commission, the M Sets became known as Millenium Bugs, due to the number of teething issues. Intended to enter service for the 2000 Olympic Games, they were repeatedly delayed and didn't enter service until 2002.
