  9. Our view both from our cabin tonight and from our little walk earlier.

Much much longer walk planned tomorrow and just enjoying being in some peace and quiet.

  10. What I did today: sent an email to my MP explaining why the UK needs to ditch Microsoft in schools, listened to an excellent podcast about Mandelson by Mark Steel and then The Rest Is History on the subject of wine, read a lot of awful headlines about current affairs, potted some salad leaves on the windowsill and poured a glass of beer. #BankHoliday #Monday #Leisure

  13. On a Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday afternoon) and the weather was fine and dandy for a walk around Hardwick Hall Country Park.
Lots of other people out and about too, making the most of the warm sunshine and getting their steps in before tomorrow's forecasted heavy rain arrives.
Love this view here across the Serpentine Lake to the Temple of Minerva, an 18th century folly designed by James Paine and constructed between 1754 and 1757.
Its imposing presence is helped by being built on an elevated section of the park.
Dedicated to 'Minerva' the Roman goddess of wisdom and patroness of the Arts.
