Been watching the Repair Shop since 430 am because #Insomnia and #BakersHours don't recognize a #BakersDayOff. Realizing that my personal aesthetic is desperate for some customization. In a world of new, machine made things I just want to surround myself with things that are quiet surprises. Just things that invite people to take a moment and pay a little extra attention.

Dinner rolls for yesterday didn't make it, proofed too slowly. Baked them off this morning and it was not, in fact, my yeast, but likely too much salt that slowed it all down. Not inedible, pretty tasty with quince jam. Probably didn't need to toss the rest of that yeast but here we are with hot rolls and a house that smells like fresh bread. #BakersDayOff

Still haven't done much home baking during this #CoastTimeYear but decided to whip up some #gougeres today. Pate a choux is an excellent gauge for a new to you oven. I took mine a little too far but nothing that wouldn't still go with a good cider. #BakersDayOff #BrazenBraising
